• Wildflower seeds need light to germinate, so avoid covering them with soil. Prepare the area by clearing it and loosening the soil. Don't worry if some weeds appear; this is common when the soil is disturbed.
• To ensure even distribution, mix the seeds with sand in a ratio of five parts sand to one part seed. This helps to identify which areas you've already seeded. For small spaces, you can spread the seeds by hand. For larger spaces, use a seed spreader.
• Once the seeds are sown, gently press them into the soil to a depth of about 1/4 inch to protect them from birds and wind.
